This item is an original Japanese hand towel (Tenugui) which is handmade by skillful Japanese artisan by using the traditional workmanship from Edo period.
The origin of the design comes from the Kabuto ornament of Date Masamune "crescent moon", the only gold ornament of black-lacquered armor.
A sharp shape of the ornament symbolizes Date Masamune himself, Shrewd Daimyo who was called as "One-eyed Dragon".
Gold-brown colored crescent on the black cloth represent not only image Sengoku period, but also refined modernistic feeling.
